Ottawa, ON – Ottawa Titans infielder Jackie Urbaez has been named the Frontier League’s Player of the Week for the week of June 28th to July 3rd.
The native of Miami, Florida went 11-for-30 with six homers, 13 runs scored, and 12 RBI in three Titans wins this past week. Urbaez collected three of his six home runs on June 29 th against the New Jersey Jackals and had a pair on Saturday in New York.
Urbaez currently owns a .322 AVG, seven homers, 24 RBI, a .428 OBP, and a .510 SLG in 39 games this season.
The 24-year-old Urbaez is in his third season of professional baseball after being drafted in the 29th round by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 2019 MLB Draft. Urbaez reached A-advanced in his lone MiLB season but spent the 2021 campaign with the Sussex County Miners hitting .261 in 58 games.
The Ottawa Titans are back in action tonight to finish off the trip with a visit to the Tri-City ValleyCats at 6:30 p.m. The Titans return home for a seven-game home stand tomorrow against the New Jersey Jackals at 6:30 p.m.
