OFFICIAL FRONTIER LEAGUE BOX SCORE

Trois-Rivières, QC - Evan Berkey's go-ahead single in the eighth inning gave the Ottawa Titans (42-40) a 4-3 win over the Trois-Rivières Aigles (31-50) on Friday, snapping their three-game losing streak in the process.

The Titans' offence started off hot against Guelph Ontario's Jacob Kush (ND, 2-2), loading the bases after a single and a pair of walks. Jake Sanford wasted little time at the dish, sending a two-run single to centre to put the Titans ahead 2-0. With the runs in the first, the Titans score first for the first time in eight games.

In the second, the Titans managed to tally another two-out run as AJ Wright's single was plated by Jason Dicochea's triple off the right-centre field wall, making it 3-0.

Grant Larson (win, 8-7) worked seven innings for his third-straight victory. The Aigles chipped away by adding a run in the second, fourth, and seventh to tie the score.

The Titans' starter allowed three runs (two earned) on eight hits, walking one, and striking out four. In the process, Larson earns his team-leading tenth-quality start of the season.

Despite allowing the game to pull level, the Titans loaded the bases with one out against Canadian Braeden Alleman (loss, 0-3) in the eighth. Evan Berkey put the Titans in front for good with an RBI single through the left side. It marked Berkey's 11th RBI in his last 11 games.

Augie Gallardo and Erasmo Pinales (save, 2) shut things down in relief to help the Titans to victory.

The Ottawa Titans continue a six-game road trip with the second of a three-game series against the Trois-Rivières Aigles on Saturday at 6:05 p.m. at Stade Quillorama. All the action can be heard on CKDJ 107.9 and 94,5 UNIK FM and live-streamed on Flo Baseball.
