OFFICIAL FRONTIER LEAGUE BOX SCORE

Ottawa, ON - Grant Larson (win, 3-4) pitched into the ninth, helping the Ottawa Titans (15-20) to a 6-2 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (13-22) on Wednesday.

Larson tossed eight innings for the second straight outing, allowing two runs on seven hits in the middle game of the series, striking out seven. From the second to the seventh, the lefty retired 14 ThunderBolts in a row. Larson also recorded a four-pitch sixth inning on route to the win.

On the offensive side, the Titans' bats erupted for a season-high five doubles on the night.

After opening the scoring on an Evan Berkey double in the second, the Titans sent nine to the plate in the third and scored five times off Cole Bellair (loss, 1-7) to make it 6-0.

Going for the first complete-game shutout in regular season franchise history, the ThunderBolts tagged Larson for a pair of runs in the ninth. Gleyvin Pineda was brought on and fanned a pair to secure the victory.

In the win, eight of the nine starters recorded hits. Evan Berkey went 2-for-4 with a double and three RBI, while Jason Dicochea, Jamey Smart, and Brandon Bannon all walked twice. Jackie Urbaez was also hit by three pitches in five plate appearances, marking the second time in three games that a Titan has been plunked multiples times in a game.
