OFFICIAL FRONTIER LEAGUE BOX SCORE
Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (20-23) stayed hot, defeating the Quebec Capitales (23-20) 8-1 on Friday, winning their third consecutive game.
For the second-straight night, the Titans posted a big inning in the first, sending eight to the plate. Jackie Urbaez led off with a solo homer to right off Carlos Sano (loss, 3-2) for his third of the season, making it 1-0. Later, the Titans loaded the bases with two outs as Sano plunked Evan Berkey, scoring Jamey Smart to make it 2-0.
Brandon Bannon started off the second inning with his first professional home run over the left-field wall, extending the lead to 3-0. AJ Wright's single in the third plated Sicnarf Loopstok's double before Jake Gitter added a pair with a two-run double of his own, extending the lead to 6-0.
The Titans knocked Sano out of the game after three innings, scoring six times on seven hits.
Zac Westcott (win, 3-5) would roll through the first three innings, retiring nine of the first ten batters he faced.
The Capitales got on the board with a TJ White solo blast in the fourth, spoiling the shutout bid.
Westcott would slide back into the win column with seven and a third of one-run ball. The veteran righty won his first decision since May 23rd by allowing six hits, walking one, and striking out six.
The Capitales' bullpen would silence the Titans' bats through the middle innings, only allowing a pair of walks. Four arms combined to keep the deficit at five.
In the eighth, the Titans tallied a pair of runs against Kenny Pierson, as Brandon Bannon and Jackie Urbaez each plated one with singles.
Jackie Urbaez, Sicnarf Loopstok, and Brandon Bannon all recorded multi-hit performances, while AJ Wright went 1-for-1 with three walks and an RBI.
