Ottawa, ON - The Ottawa Titans (10-16) got a walk-off two-run single from Taylor Wright in the bottom of the ninth to defeat the Joliet Slammers (11-15) by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.

Following two shutout frames from the opener Matt Valin (ND, 1-0), the Slammers got on the board with two runs off Brooks Walton in the third. Liam McArthur grounded a double down the left field line to open the scoring and was later cashed in on an RBI single from Will Salas.

Cole Cook (ND, 3-0) mowed through the Titans lineup through the first five innings and faced the minimum. The Titans were only able to register two hits but hit into four double plays.

With strong at-bats from the bottom third of the order, the Titans loaded the bases off Cook in the sixth. The left-hander was able to strike out AJ Wright and get Jamey Smart to pop out before Jackie Urbaez tied the game with a two-run single.

In the seventh, Walton served up a solo homer to GJ Hill, who gave the Slammers back the lead.

Walton would leave after four and two-thirds and turned it over to Gleyvin Pineda, who kept it a one-run game with an inning and a third of shutout ball.

The Titans loaded the bases yet again in the eighth as the Slammers handed the ball to Caden O'Brien (loss, 0-2), who struck out Sicnarf Loopstok to get out of the jam.

Augie Gallardo (win, 1-0) fanned a pair in his lone inning of work in the ninth to keep the Titans within striking distance.

Looking for the save, O'Brien walked Jason Dicochea on four pitches to begin the bottom of the ninth as Manny Garcia followed suit with a double to the wall in left. With the tying and winning runs in scoring position, Taylor Wright knocked in both with a single to centre.

Wright's second walk-off hit of his professional career clinched the second series victory of the season for the Titans.

The Ottawa Titans go for the sweep of the Joliet Slammers tomorrow afternoon at 1:00 pm at Ottawa Stadium. All the action can be heard on CKDJ 107.9 and live-streamed on Flo Baseball.
